Lady Bug Oreo Cookies

Cuteness over-load!! Lady bug oreo cookies will impress everyone around. And guess what? Merckens candy coatings makes Valentine's day candy projects easier than ever! Just dip, decorate, and enjoy!

RECIPE

Give your chocolate covered Oreo cookies an upgrade this Valentine’s day!

Lady bug Oreo cookies are a step up from your normal dipped Oreos. These little love bugs are sure to impress, making cute Valentine’s day gifts or a fun project for your kids.

Note: 1 pound of pink candy coatings should be enough to dip approximately 2 dozen Oreo cookies. Buying one package each of icing eyes, multi colored heart sprinkles, and merckens milk candy coatings, will be more than enough to decorate 2 dozen lady bug cookies.

Supplies you’ll need:

1-pound Pink Merkens Candy Coatings

1-pound Milk Chocolate Merckens Candy Coatings

3/16 icing eyes

Multi colored heart sprinkles

AmeriColor Black Edible Marker (optional)

Corn syrup (optional)

Pink and Milk Chocolate Merckens Candy CoatingsHeart shaped multi colored sprinkles, and tiny icing eyes to decorate cookies

Step 1:

Line a sheet pan with a piece of parchment paper. Melt the pink merckens candy coatings, and dip your oreo cookies. Place them on the parchment paper to dry, topping each cookie as you dip, with a merckens milk chocolate candy coating for the head.

When you’re done dipping, pop them in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to harden them completely.

Step 2:

Adhere the icing eyes by using corn syrup as an edible “glue” or melted chocolate. Use a toothpick to brush a little on the backs of the eyes and heart sprinkles and adhere them to your cookies. We picked out all the white hearts, but you can use any color!

Step 3:

Make the wings by drawing a line down the center with an edible marker, or you can use melted milk chocolate candy coatings in a disposable pastry bag to pipe a line.

Let them dry before packaging.
